    Action Day 29th September

We will be doing door-knocking and delivery of campaign material to residents in the surrounding area. There will also be the opportunity to contact other local members (by phone) to get them involved.

You can attend for however long you are available, and engage in whatever activities you like. We anticipate a high level of attendance (as activists from other parts of London will be encouraged to join us), so this is an excellent opportunity for first timers to shadow campaign activities, and try things out, in a supportive environment.

We hope there will also be a visit by Siobhan Benita (London 2020 Mayoral Candidate) and other candidates to the areas affected by the proposed Silvertown Road Tunnel. This will allow them to understand how opposing Silvertown fits in with Siobhan Benita's campaign to clean up London’s air. This will include a photo-op with local activists, which can be used to promote Siobhan Benita, opposing the Silvertown Tunnel, and Greenwich Borough Liberal Democrats. Details to be confirmed.

Campaign material will be focused on Siobhan Benita's campaign, but this helps build the Liberal Democrat 'brand' and presence, showing local voters we are active and have values that are important to them, in advance of a General Election likely to come before the end of the year. Come and campaign now so that residents have heard from us before the General Election campaign starts (this means more to them), and so that you are ready to help out when the Election is called!

31 Ulundi Road, SE3 7UQ, near Maze Hill station (please note they have a dog but it hasn’t been a problem for previous Action Days)

    Annual General Meeting 2019

This meeting will receive reports on the past year's activities, and will elect the officers and executive committee to lead the local party in 2020. Our local party continues to go from strength to strength - topping the polls in Greenwich & Woolwich in the European Parliament elections, selecting and appointing Prospective Parliamentary candidates for both Greenwich & Woolwich and Eltham constituencies, and regular social and campaigning activities. But we need to go further, and we can't do this without member involvement.

You don’t have to be elected to a formal role to get involved - every contribution helps. Over the next year we would particularly benefit from people who can: do behind the scenes work on computers (on our member and voter database); organise or host social events; get local young people more involved; coordinate making phone calls to local members;  and get people from a diverse range of backgrounds more involved. Delivering leaflets to your local area is always helpful. This is the main way we get our message to voters - the majority are not going to hear from us on social media or in the mainstream media.

Even if you don’t plan on standing, do come to cast your vote as to who will be leading the local party over the next year. You can also hear from us about our plans for the future, have your say on these, and hear from an invited guest speaker.

Speaker: Humaira Ali, Southwark Councillor and Prospective Parliamentary Candidate

All members and supporters welcome (only paid up members can vote and stand).

There will be the opportunity for more informal socialising afterwards.
