February 2018 Pizza and Politics

We’d love to see you at our next Lib Dem Pizza & Politics evening. This will be an opportunity to discuss policy and current issues in a friendly atmosphere with likeminded people, with pizza to eat! Food and drink will be provided, but please feel free to bring whatever you like.

This month: as well as general get-to-know-you, we'll now have the opportunity to discuss the recently-released Lib Dem "Alderdice Report" on improving engagement with Black and Minority Ethnic (BaME) communities across the Party as a whole. The report concludes that, in terms of how well the Party represents the communities we aim to serve, our liberal values are not in doubt, but how we implement them needs to be worked on. You can read a summary of the report here: https://www.libdems.org.uk/alderdice-report-race-ethnic-minorities-culture-liberal-democrats. The webpage also includes a link to the full report. I hope to discuss with you how we can work towards better member and public engagement locally. This will help us, as a local party, continue to grow and work better.

If you haven’t been to a Pizza & Politics event before, it’s a really informal affair – just a group of friendly people who care deeply about the world we live in and want to make it a better place. Sometimes we have a speaker or topic of discussion. Today will be focused on giving you the chance to meet other local party members, as well as tell us your views on issues that matter to you.

This event is open to members and non-members alike. It’s a social evening, designed to be relaxed and fun. We’ll also give you an update on our plans for the next few months and let you know how you can get more involved.

We look forward to seeing you there!

(Please let us know if you have any special dietary requirements.)
