Charlton Village & Riverside

Our candidates for Charlton Village & Riverside

Geoff Horrell

I have lived in Greenwich for 17 years with my wife and two children. I love this borough, from the green spaces and iconic heritage to the town centres and small businesses. Having been involved in school governorship, I have seen the difference it makes when local voices challenge the status quo. As a Liberal Democrat I am passionate about ensuring  all voices in our borough are better represented, especially small businesses, carers and parents.

My wife and I moved to Charlton in 1997 and brought up our family in this particularly special part of London where there is an underlying belief in inclusivity and fairness - core principles of the Liberal Democrat Party.

I am an architect and currently run my own business. I am also an active member and commodore at Greenwich Yacht Club and I walk my dog in Charlton Park.

From poor consultation over the implementation of the LTN’s and their adverse impact, through to the threat to close Maryon Wilson Animal Park and the selling of council parking areas of value to the village, a feeling of disconnect between the council and the community has grown.

It is essential that local councillors work with the benefit of the local community in mind and that they know the area well. As a truly local person with your interests at heart I would be honoured by your support in this election.
