East Greenwich
Our candidates for East Greenwich
Kieran Watkins
My name is Kieran Watkins, I'm 32, I work in the energy sector and have been living in East Greenwich since 2024. I'm standing for Greenwich Council to ensure planned development in the area meets the needs of local people. Major development is expected in the ward in areas like Modern Wharf, Enderby Place and Arches Leisure Centre. The Council needs to ensure much-needed housing is created sustainably, alongside community, educational, retail and industrial facilities so that all local citizens can benefit from thousands of homes earmarked in the Local Plan.
Josh Rogers
My name is Josh Rogers, I live with my young family in East Greenwich and work for Greenwich Foodbank. As a Liberal Democrat, I believe in standing up for values such liberty, community and equality. Nationally, I am passionate about closer British-European cooperation. Locally, I am determined to achieve change on issues such as littering. The Maze Hill station area is particularly affected. I want the Council to commit more generally to making Greenwich a much tidier, greener borough.
James Jefford
My name is James Jefford, I’m 29 years old, and I have been a resident of East Greenwich for most of my life. Professionally, I am a freelance musician as well as a small business owner. I care deeply about this borough, having spent much of my childhood and adult life here, and it would be a privilege to contribute to and support the community in any way I can.
In this polarising world, I believe the need for united communities, equal opportunity, and social justice has never been greater and it is with these liberal values that I would seek to improve our borough. I believe that listening and open communication are vital, and I would strive to strengthen the voice of the community so that people feel heard and that plans and projects reflect their wishes.
