Woolwich Common
Our candidates for Woolwich Common
Matthew Glinsman
Liberal Democrat membership enables me to take action in areas I feel strongly about; individual rights and closer ties to Europe.
It is right that we all have recourse to live safely, healthily and have the opportunity to prosper. This starts with the local council delivering a sustainable, fair and green future.
If elected I will stand up for residents and local businesses working hard to ensure their voices are heard amongst every community and their issues addressed, no matter how small. Green spaces, sustainable housing and cultural diversity will be my main areas of focus in this historical borough.
Ulysse Abbate
I have lived in Greenwich for the past two decades and have been a local volunteer for various community groups at different times. I became a Liberal Democrat at University, after being disappointed with the state of politics. I saw my country and community being led towards further decline. Liberal Democrats offer positive alternatives centered on equality, community and freedom, values lacking in our current politics.
Locally, Liberal Democrats can be the voice of the community :standing up against the historically one-party-dominated Labour council. Labour takes votes for granted and fails to properly tackle problems such as fly-tipping, housing and other local problems. If elected as your Liberal Democrat councillor, I will confront these issues head on.
