Chris Annous' talk on voter perceptions
We were delighted to welcome Chris Annous, our 2024 Greenwich & Woolwich parliamentary candidate and a professional pollster, to Mycenae House last week for a discussion into the current state of the British voter. It was a fascinating evening packed with useful data and illustrations that showed how people perceive the Liberal Democrats in 2026. Chris perspective, based on his experience on the doorsteps of Greenwich and Woolwich and rigorous national polling, provided a clear-eyed look at our party's position in the current political landscape.
The presentation showed that while Ed Davey remains well-regarded and the party is viewed favourably by many of the electorate, voters are often not aware of our policies and hesitate on our viability as a party of national government. Chris used voter segmentation to explain where our biggest opportunities lie, particularly on core issues like the speed of institutional reforms.
It was an evening that left us all with plenty to think about as we look toward future campaigns. A huge thank you to Chris for sharing these insights with us and we came away with a sharper sense of how to turn those positive perceptions into winning votes.
